Headaches

September 2, 2016 - News Post

It's quite often that this comic reflects what is going on in my life.

The circumstances and conversations I experience provide a great deal of inspiration for each panel, and save me the trouble of actually using my limited writing skills. Today's is just one of many examples of that.

What happens less frequently is my life imitating the comic after the fact. So I like to embrace those rare occasions when that happens. That's why I'm excited to announce that I've been wearing the same pants and button-up shirt several days in a row (my tshirt, socks, and granny panties have thankfully been peeled off and replaced with a fresh set each morning).

How does this happen? Through a combination of shamelessness, a trip out of town, weeks worth of laundry piling up, a broken washer, an unhelpful repair guy, and an even less helpful delivery crew. As I write this, I've been waiting for roughly 9 days now to be able to do laundry, and I've just run out of socks. Things are about to get ugly.

I could, of course, purchase more socks. But I think it'll be more fun to ride this one out and see just how long I can go as a walking pile of filth (my wife, as always, will have veto rights).

The delivery crew should, in theory, be dropping off a new washer by 7pm, but I heard the same thing yesterday, and that's 30 minutes away as I write this, so I'm not terribly hopeful.

I could go on, but the smell of my shirt is getting to me. I need to stop typing and move outdoors before I pass out.

Meanwhile, while I air myself out, you should be visiting the Kickstarter campaign for Tower Titans (I'm sure they appreciate that opening story). I mentioned this briefly on Tuesday. Tower Titans is a first person tower defense game made by some friends of mine.

You play as a crewmember of a ship that has just crash landed on a remote alien world. While seeking help, you discover a mysterious mining operation being carried out by an army of cybernetic insects. Unfortunately, those insects don't take kindly to outsiders, and you are forced to use the scraps of your doomed ship to build defenses.

How do I know all this? Because they asked ME to narrate their Kickstarter video after I had been playing their prototypes for a year and a half.

It's going to be a pretty damn awesome game, and you can help them get funded. See their Kickstarter page for more details. Go there... go there NOW!
