Happy birthday, Dr. Lobster!

For those of you who missed Friday's news, Dr. Lobster was my very first webcomic, started 17 years ago by Michael Buonauro and myself. Unlike the garbage I do now, the old stuff was comic gold.

I had asked you guys on Friday to write in if you remembered reading Dr. Lobster. Much to my surprise, my inbox filled itself to the brim with new messages. Thank you so so much for all your kind letters about promoting my website, how to find love, and everyone's favorite subject: natural male enhancement. I must've recieved 300 messages about that on Friday alone. This is considerably more than my usual zero new emails.

If I didn't know any better, I might've assumed that my contact form was under some sort of coordinated robot spammer attack all weekend long. I'm honestly not sure if I received any messages directly addressing Dr. Lobster. But I know that spamlike messages are simply how my readers like to communicate, and I appreciate it.

Nevertheless, I've made some adjustments to the contact form, and applied some decent filters in the off chance that these messages were spam. If you did write this weekend and I haven't replied, shoot me another quick hello. It's possible your message is simply buried under a gigantic pile of natural male enhancements, and we wouldn't want that.

As delightful as this latest wave of delightful messages are, it has me thinking about the comments form on this site. As you may or may not know, a redesign is perpetually in the works, and you people talked me into adding user comments. After spending several hours dealing with a giant influx of messages, though, I am moving a comments form from the "definite" column to "maybe" on my to-do list. I don't have a super strong opinion, but I am slightly less enthused about adding another form to the site.

If you have a strong opinion on this, I'd love to hear it. Type your thoughts into the comments form below....
