My house echoes.

Despite what you might think, making webcomics doesn't pay for a sprawling manor. I live in a cozy little house. We have 3 bedrooms and one bath. Not bad, but nothing to brag about. It certainly lacks the extended halls and ballrooms of my typical reader's home (I assume).

So why does my house echo? Because it's clean... and different.

Yes, I've cleaned the house before. If you ignore my office, most of the home stays tidy and organized. Now, I know you readers typically have your staff of servants clean the house for you, but my wife and I do it ourselves. So try to picture it...

On Saturday, we rearranged furniture in the living room. While mopping the floors, we temporarily moved the couch and bookshelf to opposite sides of the room. We liked the new arrangement so much, we decided to keep it. It wasn't a major change, but whatever we did messed with the acoustics.

It was a pretty fancy idea.

I'm not generally a very auditory person. I'm more into visuals. On normal days, I'd look at our house and accurately say, "meh, it's not that big." But now, due to how the sound bounces off the walls, it seems incredibly empty and cavernous-- Just like the homes of my hoity toity readers!

Don't worry, you're still special. This is purely my way of trying to feel like you in some small way. Next week, we were thinking of standing in a drainage ditch by the side of the road and pretending it's a moat.

Of course, if enough of you were donate to my Patreon campaign, I could hire someone to stand in that ditch for me. That would leave me with more time to do the comic, and more comics for you to read while roaming the halls of your lavish castle. It's a win-win for everyone!

...please don't make me stand in the ditch by the side of the road.
