I have no idea why I started the news that way, but it clearly needs to be my new thing.

How are you TODAY, darlings? (I’ve also decided to emphasize sentences in weird ways).

Actually, now that I think about it, I’m not sure I want either of those to be my new thing. It doesn’t seem seductive enough in writing. Only in person.
