Coronavirus

March 6, 2020 - News Post

So hey, yeah, that whole coronavirus thing.

Is this going to come and go in the news like swine flu, ebola, and avian flu? Or is it a repeat of the spanish influenza epidemic of 1918? No one knows as of the time I write this. Exciting stuff! I suppose it’s worth taking seriously. I’ve avoided touching my face today, have YOU?

(Why does everyone want to touch my face?)

As far as I can tell, I’m not personally infected at this time. If I do get infected, I’ll do my best to reflect that in the comic before I go. That’s a penciled-in commitment at best, so don’t get too excited. Not yet.

...

On a less upbeat note, I was all set to tell you about my recent trip to Nashville. For those of you who haven’t read every single newspost, I used to live there. My wife and I were there just three weeks ago. Our first trip since moving away. We visited friends, restaurants, and clients-- and not all for tax purposes. It was wonderful. I missed that city a lot more than I thought.

But because 2020 can’t give us just one bad thing at a time, tornadoes DEVASTATED parts of Nashville and surrounding areas this week.

I’m drinking tea right now from a place called High Garden Tea. That place no longer exists. Many of our favorite hangouts have been completely destroyed overnight. All of our friends were safe and sound, but some had some extremely close calls.

It feels strange to be so close to the area, yet so far away.

...

I honestly don't know what the next few weeks will bring. I do know that I'll be watching a lot of TV... for my own health and safety. You should do the same.

Stay safe, watch those skies, and quit touching my face.
