My couch has arrived!

After a lifetime of secondhand furniture, I am now the proud owner of a brand-new couch and an equally new chair. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve never felt so comfortable. Still, they fill space. Two thirds of the living room.

And lucky me! I am still the owner of my old couch and old chairs.

If you’re not tracking the math, it means I now have 4/3 of the room filled with furniture. This has had a spillover effect in the rest of my home. It’s disgustingly messy in here.

Of all the problems to have, this ranks somewhere between having too many television shows to watch, and too many cars to park in the driveway. It is not a real problem. I know that.

So why bring it up? Why write this here?

I like filling space.
