I’ve decided to give up R-rated movies for a month.
(For those of you outside the US, R-Rated movies are for age 17 and above)
To be thorough, I’ll stop reading violent fiction and playing violent video games. It's going to be a tame, sheltered month.
One month. No terrifying murders, no horrific screams of agony... none of the good stuff. I’m fine with foul language and nudity (more than fine). I just want to cut down the violence intake for a short while.
I love monster movies, and I don’t care for violence without consequences, so this may prove difficult. For the record, I’ve always enjoyed “creepy” and “suspenseful” over “gory” and “dumb”, but I’m cutting everything off. Anything that would frighten a 10-year-old.
Why?
Curiosity... and maybe stress? I really have no idea why I would do this. I don't know why I do a lot of things.
I’ll begin my experiment January 1st, which means I have a little over a week to watch as many scary horror movies as I can.
I’m taking recommendations startiiiiiiiing NOW.
