I like drawing.
I like pressing buttons while looking at the screen. Who doesn't?
So tell me this: Where can I find an inexpensive set of USB dials?
It seems like a simple request. A device I can use to help me draw. A tiny box with 3 dials for:
- Zoom
- Rotate
- Brush Size
I feel like a rotary dial input device should've been available since the 80's. So why can't I find one?
That's not entirely true. I already own one dial. I use a handy little wireless remote called the AC-19. I love that device and use it daily. But again, that's one dial. Cycling through the dial modes takes precious seconds. I don't want that. I want THREE dials on one device.
I've seen some on sale for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I feel, though, that this should be out there for a small fraction of that.
I've also seen plenty of single dials. Could I buy three of those? Noooooooo. Windows can't always tell one dial from another.
Can I build a solution? Sure. I've seen some very good plans online for a single dial that I could probably adapt for my uses. For under $50, I have no doubt I could piece one together myself… over the course of 10 hours.
I do like spending 10 hours to save 10 seconds, but not if I don't have to.
Why is this so hard to find?
What did YOU do to make this such a scarce technology?
