Furloughed greetings, people!
It wasn’t a shock that my company stopped paying me. Although I always thought it would be the comic that did me in, not a pandemic.
I’m still behind slightly on a few projects as I scramble to figure finances out. Thankfully, this furlough has been simply smashing for comic ideas. Soon I hope to have more time. Oh so much more free time.
And while the comic has some new directions to take, I’m really struggling with today’s news. It’s hard to properly whine at a time like this. There are people genuinely suffering life-altering hardships. Things aren't great, but I’m okay.
I'm healthy. My situation is not dire. Although the timing of the work stuff isn’t ideal financially, a lot of people are going through this. Thankfully, my wife is still employed. Half an income is significantly better than no income. Food will still find its way into my mouth and beard (even if some bills have to wait).
Until my employment status changes, I will be focusing on personal projects a little more. Some of that is webcomic related, some is not. All of it should be worth your attention when it’s ready.
Thank you thank you thank you to everyone for your comments, messages, tweets, etc. They mean a lot. If anyone is looking to hire an interactive designer/developer with web, app, game, and AR experience, let me know.
In the meantime, take care of yourself. Stay safe.
